"I have been painting and drawing forever. I also love printmaking and have explored using solar-plates for intaglio and mono-prints. My paintings grow organically from my interior worlds and then dance across my canvas. These paintings of abstract organic forms seem to float and drift in soft ambiguous space. The colors are rich and vibrant infused with light. I paint in oils using traditional glazing techniques as well as loose expressive brush work.
In contrast to the abstract work, I also love painting still-life images. The process of setting the light and the relationship of the objects to the negative space is very satisfying. Exploring my visual language through color, line and form and always leads me in a new direction.
I started my formal education at the Art Students League in 1970, continued at FIT and completed my degree at SUNY New Paltz in 1990."
